Project Zomboid /// How do I install modifications on the server?

As with other games, we try to make the installation of mods as easy as possible, so in most cases you just click on "Steam Workshop", install the mods you want and everything will install and set itself up.

However, it may happen that some modification will not install correctly using the automator and the server will not load it afterwards. If this happens, please follow these steps

  1. Click on "Steam Workshop (Installed)" in the main menu and "Info" for the problem modification.
  2. In the modification description you will find the ModID and WorkshopID (Make a note of this)
  3. Then click on "Configuration Files" in the main menu and find the servertest.ini file
  4. For this file click on "Text Editor"
  5. In the text editor, find the WorkshopID and ModID lines and compare if the values are correct for the modification, if there is an error, for example there will be an extra space somewhere.
  6. If necessary, add the ModID and WorkshopID manually
  7. Save and exit
  8. Start the server
